Casual disappointment

Question: Why is casual sex so disappointing?

Answer: Because it is casual!

More often than not, the casual folks are disappointed when they don’t receive a stellar performance from their partner. There is no meaning beyond the performance, hence the emphasis on bedroom skills – a compensation for the lack of emotional intimacy.

Thus, if casual is your thing, then stock up on the Viagra, get in tip-top physical shape, and study a copy of “The Joy of Sex.” Is that still in print?

Possess and control

We are engrossed by the illusion that we can actually possess or control anything, other than ourselves – and even that has limits.

A man never forgets

If a man forgets a once loved woman, then he never really loved her. Authentic love leaves enduring footprints on a man’s heart and mind, where nothing is left unchanged for him, including the meaning of life itself.

Invisible forces

The force of gravity “appears” to exist. However, like the wind, we infer that gravity exists by observing visible things and how they interact. We cannot directly observe gravity, just as we cannot see the wind.

Human nature is more of the same. We infer what people are thinking and feeling through their words, behavior, and physical manifestations. However, our naked motivations are invisible to both ourselves and others, limiting us to best guesses as to what is really happening.
