Unfinished

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
~ Lao Tzu

Despite the inevitability of change, you pursue the finished in people, places, things, situations, and achievements. However, nothing is ever finished, despite your habit of seeking the finished within the unfinished, your desire to finally ARRIVE and say this is my place, my time, my lover, my body, my property, my talent, my success, my legacy, etc.

Everything you encounter, everything that is presently you, is just another leg of the journey; a milestone on your path to an uncharted, unfinished destination, which only God or fate is privy to. There is no flight plan to file before continuing your journey, as the landscape changes from moment to moment, with seemingly no rhyme or reason, no traceable lines between cause and effect, everything and everyone in perpetual flux.

You don’t know what is ahead of you, not 5 minutes, 5 days, or 5 years down the road. There is only more movement, more change, more places to traverse, and more people to meet and say goodbye to, as they are unfinished quantities in and of themselves, always changing minute by minute, seeking to finish what remains unfinished. This is your journey and theirs, full of bittersweet memories that are always changing, forever unfinished.
